Full description

The Australian Energy Statistics (AES) dataset is developed as part of Australia's international energy reporting obligations. Drawing on data from the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS), the Australian Petroleum Statistics (APS), the Resources and Energy Quarterly, and a variety of public and private data holdings from across the sector, the AES provides detailed historical statistics on various aspects of energy in Australia. Estimates include longitudinal energy intensity and productivity, energy consumption by fuel type and sector, household energy price index, energy production and balance, generation supply mix, and energy-related exports and imports. The data is typically compiled and presented in a manner consistent with the framework used by the International Energy Agency.

The annual dataset is accompanied by a report that gives an overview and analysis of the latest trends. Copyright and license information is included in the front matter of the Australian Energy Update report.
