Full description

An extension of the Australian Government's NationalMap initiative, the AREMI platform facilitates geospatial visualisation of Australian renewable energy and related datasets. The platform federates publicly accessible data from across the energy sector, allowing for both point and time-series data sources to be overlaid on a variety of Australian maps. The platform includes (but is not limited to):

  • climate and environmental data relevant to renewable energy systems;
  • generation and transmission infrastructure;
  • population data;
  • network substation capacities;
  • power plant generation output; and
  • a variety of geospatial boundaries, such as postal and local government areas (LGAs).

Solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, hydro and wave renewable energy technologies are featured. Data includes both historic and near-real-time feeds.

Note that AREMI facilitates download of data used to produce visualisations. Note also that users can overlay their own geospatial data onto any map produced in the AREMI platform, allowing for temporary integration of private data.

Note that most data is externally hosted and, as such, has distinct licenses, limitations, disclaimers and copyright.
