Connecting AEMO electricity usage data to the built environment
The NEAR Program developed energy data profiles for a range of residential property types, grouped by attributes including climate zone and dwelling count.
In FY2019-20 the National Energy Analytics Research (NEAR) Program provided valuable inputs around the physical nature of the national commercial building stock for the Commercial Buildings Baseline Study update. The goal of this project was to build upon that work by undertaking exploratory research to link groups of properties with aggregated electricity usage data sourced from the Australian Energy Market Operator’s (AEMO) data holdings, with a specific focus on residential apartment buildings.
