The page provides an interactive geospatial heat map and charts, highlighting the uptake and capacity of solar PV systems across Australia. Data is provided at a postcode, state electorate or local government area (LGA) granularity. The map is formed by linking solar PV data from the Clean Energy Regulator with dwelling count data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and geospatial data from the ABS, SA Government, and PMSA.

The data includes accredited solar PV systems that have been installed since April 2001. Note that due to delays inherent in the solar system registration process, the data will underestimate true installation numbers. Also note that the data does not account for systems that have been decommissioned.
