Historic and near-term future projections for residential electricity prices and supply chain components.
The residential electricity price trends data provides estimates of future residential electricity pricing for FY17/18 and FY18/19. For each state, estimates reflect costs for a single representative household type, broken down by supply chain components related to environmental policies, regulated network costs and competitive wholesale and retail markets. For reference, historical data is provided for FY15/16 and FY16/17 years.
For the 2016 edition of this data, two forward projection scenarios are considered: one with the closure of Hazelwood power station and one without.
Note that the trends presented are not forecasts, but rather intended as indications of price drivers. It is also worth noting that values are not comparable across states, as different household typologies are used in the estimation process.
