Full description

The Australian Energy Technology Assessment (AETA) report provides levelised cost of energy (LCOE) estimates for a set of 40 current and prospective electricity generation technologies out to 2050. The technologies include energy generation technologies driven by renewable, fossil and nuclear fuels. Examples include solar thermal, solar PV, wind, biomass, direct injection coal, and supercritical coal technologies. The report includes a particular focus on solar and wind operating costs.

The modelling approach used is consistent with the prior 2012 AETA process, though this updated report takes into account input from the AETA Steering Committee and the Stakeholder Reference Group, who provided commentary and recommendations on the AETA 2012 report and the model used as the basis of that report.
