Full description

The report draws on national level data to determine the changes over time (from 2004 - 2016) in Australian commercial building construction costs. The report particularly focuses on changes related to compliance with energy performance requirements and changing building codes. Results consider the impact of and relationship to climate zone. The analyses use data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and other sources including the Commercial Building Baseline Study. In addition, the report describes cost changes for over 150 energy-related building elements, including insulation products, glazing and different kinds of mechanical and electrical plants. Cost data for these building elements is supplied by quantity surveyors, Donald Cant Watts Corke.

Note that the analysis is limited by the inconsistency of available cost data over the reported time period. As such, a subset of relevant cost elements are not included in the analysis.

Note that relevant copyright material is provided on page i of the report, which should be read together with the wider copyright and usage terms provided at the hosting site.
