Full description

The data draws on the Energy, Water and Environment Survey (EWES) conducted by the ABS and the National Greenhouse and outputs from the Energy Reporting Scheme (NGERS) of the CER to summarise energy consumption (GJ) and expenditure ($m) across fuel types and industry classifications for the 2014-15 financial year. Fuel types include electricity, natural gas, LPG, diesel, petrol, coal, transport fuels and renewables. Industry segmentation aligns with standard ANZSIC classifications and, separately, business size. There is a particular focus on the mining and manufacturing, transport, postal and warehousing, and electricity, gas and waste services sectors. Energy generation by fuel type (both renewable and non-renewable) is also provided for key sectors (including mining, manufacturing, and electricity, gas, water and waste services).
